Been gone so long

With so much going on, sometimes, it's hard to know where to begin....but it got real clear today. We were out on a homeschool trip. Nothing big, nothing fancy. A class about trees. I love trees. Some of my favorite people are trees. Mudpuppy, Teah & I went up to Middle somewhere, MA. We arrived at a beautiful, new , very large log cabin. The class had started without us....that was okay....it was less than we expected, yet more, in a weird, 'gosh, we don't fit in here' kind of way. After a few minutes, we hit the woods. I bailed and curled up in the sunshine with Howard Zinns History....a great book.....that's why we sell it....
In the space of time it took to wipe out most of the Peoples of Central & South America, the group was back. The moderator was carrying a nest. Without touching it, without really having to look at it, I knew it was new...it wasn't even finished....it was in the blond womans hands.....why?
She collects them. There, in her hands was a nest. That morning, it had been a home. Maybe it was the home of a pregnant female, or a newly mating couple. I don't know for sure...but I do know for sure that it didn't belong to her. We talked about it. I offered her some nests from up in Vermont or out from the Mohawk Trail....at the end of the season...when the occupants had left...but she shrugged it off.

Later, after I had rushed from her home and her collection of nests, Mudpuppy & I talked about it.
We talked about it for awhile. This evening, I told Gentle Rain about it. Mudpuppy got it. Gentle Rain got it. Nest thief did not get it. It wasn't her nest. It wasn't hers to touch, to take , to collect. She had no right to do more than admire the nest.
It became real clear today.
Iraq,
Bushco,
Nest thief.
It's all connected....and it ain't ours....we're just watching it for the grandchildren......
